AIW S28 Sliding Window

AIW S28

Highlights
Water tightness of 2000 Pa — the highest in Asia — with supercar-inspired fluid dynamics and a revolutionary wedge-sealing structure. Paired with insulated Low-E energy-saving glass, it shuts out wind, rain and noise while insulating against heat, for a quiet, energy-efficient home of real quality.

The AIW S28 sliding window is AIW's flagship airtight slider: average water tightness of 2000 Pa, up to 2750 Pa (the highest level in Asia), the highest national grade for air tightness, wind load resistance of 5000 Pa and sound insulation of STC 36 dB (with 10 mm glass). It uses a 10 cm frame and 5 mm + 5 mm insulated Low-E energy-saving glass, drains the tracks through an equal-pressure design and a stepped drainage system, and can take the AIS anti-smog screen.

Features

01
3D-printed prototyping
A first in Taiwan's industry: 3D printing turns a complete window or door into a physical prototype, cutting tooling development costs — a saving passed on to the end price.
02
Equal-pressure design
The sliding system is designed around the equal-pressure chamber principle: rather than piling on thicker or more numerous seals, it guides and drains water out of the tracks the way tai chi redirects force.
03
Stepped drainage system
An optimal slope speeds drainage, and the level difference of the stepped sill sharply reduces the chance of rainwater reaching the interior.
04
Automotive-grade sealing and sound insulation
Automotive-grade seals improve both sound and water tightness, and effectively block air exchange so outdoor pollution no longer affects the quality of your home.
05
Dual hollow inner-and-outer frame structure
Built for typhoons and earthquakes: the dual hollow inner-and-outer design increases flexural recovery, substantially raising the structural strength of the frame.
06
Durable low-effort rollers
Stainless steel rollers still glide smoothly after 100,000 sliding cycles — solving the familiar problem of floor-to-ceiling windows being heavy to move, or frames that seal so tightly they are hard to slide.
07
In-house insulated glass line
The automated glass line washes, dries, assembles and seals each unit, reducing defects caused by human factors. Insulated glass units are warranted fog-free for 15 years.

FAQ

  • What water tightness does the AIW S28 reach?

Average water tightness of 2000 Pa and a maximum of 2750 Pa, tested by a laboratory accredited by TAF (Taiwan Accreditation Foundation) — the highest standard in Asia under international norms, where typical international brands reach about 1500 Pa.

  • How good is the sound insulation?

STC 36 dB with 10 mm glass. Automotive-grade seals and 5 mm + 5 mm insulated Low-E glass work together to block outdoor noise.

  • What is the wind load resistance?

5000 Pa. AIW tests this in its Weather Lab with the highest grade of simulated extreme-weather storm testing.

  • Will water pool in the tracks and seep indoors when it rains?

The equal-pressure design does not rely on thicker or more numerous seals; it guides water out of the tracks instead. A stepped drainage system adds an optimal slope and a level difference at the sill, sharply reducing the chance of rainwater reaching the interior.

  • Can an anti-smog screen be added?

Yes. The AIS anti-smog screen is available as optional equipment and blocks up to 90.5% of PM2.5 and smoke.

  • What are the frame and glazing specifications?

    A 10 cm frame, with 5 mm + 5 mm insulated Low-E energy-saving glass as standard.

  • Can I see the performance before deciding?

Yes. AIW has Weather Labs at Tiger City in Taichung (+886-4-2251-9117) and in Zhubei, Hsinchu County (+886-3-657-3588), where you can book a visit to watch the storm test in person.
